I-690 lanes to close in Syracuse, DeWitt for construction starting Monday

Interstate 690 East and West are scheduled to undergo construction beginning Monday resulting in lane closures.
I-690 westbound between Exit 17 (Bridge Street) and Exit 15 (Milder Avenue) will be reduced to one lane, according to a news release from the Department of Transportation.
I-690 eastbound will be reduced to one lane between Exits 16S-16N-17 (Thompson Road, Bridge Street and East Syracuse) and the on-ramp to Interstate 481 northbound, they said.
The closures will begin Monday and go until Nov. 25, according to the DOT. The closures will start at 8 a.m. and go to 5 p.m. on weekdays, they said.
The lane closures will allow the DOT to conduct a bridge inspection, according to the DOT said. Construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change based on conditions, they said.
Motorists are advised to follow posted detour routes and to use caution when driving through work zones, the DOT said.
